SAMI Foundation’s future projects are designed to respond to the real needs of single mothers, children with special needs, and vulnerable families. The work can begin at community level and grow into structured facilities through partnerships, donor support, accountable governance, and responsible implementation.

Why These Projects Matter

A mother’s stability protects a child’s future.

Many single mothers are caring for children while also facing food pressure, school fees, rent challenges, sickness, and limited income. For mothers raising children with special needs, the burden can be even heavier because children may require extra care, learning support, health follow-up, therapy referrals, patience, and understanding.

These future projects give SAMI Foundation a practical roadmap for long-term family support. They are not designed as one-time charity. They are designed to build skills, confidence, savings, inclusion, accountability, and community resilience.

Project Direction

Special Needs Children Support and Family Care Programme

This project will identify and support children with special needs and the mothers caring for them. It will focus on children with speech delays, learning difficulties, disability-related needs, chronic illness, behavioural challenges, or any condition requiring extra care and attention.

Main Activities

  • Register children with special needs and create confidential family profiles.
  • Conduct home visits to understand child care, learning, nutrition, and health needs.
  • Organise parent support meetings for mothers raising children who need extra care.
  • Link families to clinics, therapists, teachers, social workers, and other support services where possible.
  • Provide simple learning materials such as picture cards, puzzles, writing books, sensory items, and communication aids.
  • Run community awareness sessions to reduce stigma and promote inclusion.

Expected Impact

Children with special needs become more visible, understood, and supported. Mothers receive practical guidance, emotional support, and referral pathways instead of carrying the burden alone.

Inclusive Education and School Support Project

This project will help vulnerable children remain in school and improve educational inclusion for children who need extra learning support.

Main Activities

  • Identify children at risk of school dropout and children needing additional learning support.
  • Support vulnerable children with scholastic materials, uniforms, shoes, school bags, books, and writing materials where resources allow.
  • Encourage mothers to follow up on children’s school attendance, behaviour, and progress.
  • Work with schools and teachers to understand the needs of children with special needs.
  • Organise holiday learning, reading clubs, mentorship days, and basic literacy support sessions.

Expected Impact

Children stay connected to education, mothers become more involved in school follow-up, and children with special needs receive more patience and inclusion in learning environments.

Single Mothers Skills Training and Home-Based Livelihood Project

This project will help mothers earn income while still caring for their children, especially mothers who cannot work far from home because of childcare responsibilities.

Main Activities

  • Train mothers in tailoring, baking, hairdressing, soap making, crafts, catering, poultry, vegetable growing, and retail trade.
  • Provide business coaching on pricing, saving, customer care, record keeping, and reinvestment.
  • Support mothers to start or improve home-based businesses.
  • Create group production activities such as soap, snacks, crafts, school items, or household products.
  • Help mothers access local markets through churches, schools, community events, WhatsApp groups, and referrals.

Expected Impact

Mothers gain practical livelihood skills, improve household income, and become more confident and less dependent on emergency help.

Community Food, Nutrition and Emergency Relief Project

This project will create a structured response for families facing food shortages, rent pressure, school-fee deadlines, sickness, bereavement, or sudden crisis.

Main Activities

  • Create an emergency relief record system for urgent family cases.
  • Mobilise food, clothing, scholastic materials, hygiene items, and household supplies from well-wishers.
  • Provide emergency support to families facing bereavement, sickness, food shortages, school pressure, or rent crisis where resources allow.
  • Promote basic nutrition awareness, affordable meal planning, and kitchen gardening where possible.
  • Keep clear records of support provided, including date, type of assistance, beneficiary, and approval.

Expected Impact

Families in crisis receive timely and accountable support while children are protected from severe hardship where possible.

Mothers’ Savings, Leadership and Community Empowerment Project

This project will strengthen savings, financial literacy, leadership, accountability, and peer support among SAMI Foundation members.

Main Activities

  • Strengthen the weekly or monthly savings group system.
  • Train members in saving, budgeting, responsible borrowing, record keeping, and financial planning.
  • Create clear savings group rules and accountability procedures.
  • Train mothers in leadership, teamwork, meeting participation, conflict resolution, and community responsibility.
  • Prepare regular reports that show savings participation, challenges, achievements, and lessons learnt.

Expected Impact

Mothers build financial discipline, strengthen unity, reduce dependence on emergency help, and become active leaders in their own progress.

The Bigger Picture

The dream is to build structured facilities for long-term family support.

SAMI Foundation is growing from community-based support into a wider vision: a trusted family support system where single mothers can find dignity, children with special needs can be seen and supported, and vulnerable families can move from survival towards stability.

As the work expands, larger projects may require funding of over €250,000. This is not presented as a fixed final budget, but as a realistic future development level for facilities, equipment, trained staff, outreach, monitoring, safeguarding, and long-term programme sustainability.

SAMI Family Support and Special Needs Centre

A safe community space for counselling, parent guidance, referrals, family assessments, and coordinated support for single mothers and children with special needs.

Child Development and Inclusive Learning Room

A child-friendly room with puzzles, picture cards, sensory toys, reading materials, communication aids, and learning tools for children who need extra support.

Skills Training Workshop

A practical training space for tailoring, crafts, soap making, hairdressing, baking, catering, poultry, and other income-generating activities.

Community Training Kitchen and Nutrition Area

A place for mothers to learn baking, catering, affordable nutrition, food preparation, and small food-business skills.

Counselling and Family Guidance Room

A private space for emotional support, mentorship, family guidance, safeguarding discussions, and confidential support for mothers.

Emergency Relief and Storage Unit

A secure place for donated food, clothes, school materials, hygiene items, assistive items, and emergency family supplies.

Administration and Reporting Office

An accountable office for records, beneficiary data, donor reports, finance files, volunteer coordination, safeguarding, and monitoring.

Mobile Outreach Support

Transport and outreach systems to reach mothers and children who cannot easily travel, especially families caring for children with special needs.

Why Larger Funding Will Be Needed

Scaling responsibly requires facilities, people, tools, and strong systems.

SAMI Foundation will grow in phases. The foundation can begin with community meetings, home visits, savings groups, referrals, and small training activities. As support grows, larger funding will be needed to serve more families professionally and safely.
