Special Needs Children Support and Family Care Programme
This project will identify and support children with special needs and the mothers caring for them. It will focus on children with speech delays, learning difficulties, disability-related needs, chronic illness, behavioural challenges, or any condition requiring extra care and attention.
Main Activities
- Register children with special needs and create confidential family profiles.
- Conduct home visits to understand child care, learning, nutrition, and health needs.
- Organise parent support meetings for mothers raising children who need extra care.
- Link families to clinics, therapists, teachers, social workers, and other support services where possible.
- Provide simple learning materials such as picture cards, puzzles, writing books, sensory items, and communication aids.
- Run community awareness sessions to reduce stigma and promote inclusion.
Expected Impact
Children with special needs become more visible, understood, and supported. Mothers receive practical guidance, emotional support, and referral pathways instead of carrying the burden alone.
